MicroGiving Is Taking Over the World!
MicroGiving is embarking on a new venture to fundraise for international nonprofits and charities around the world. First stop… India!
MicroGiving will be going to India on the 14th of March to verify a number of India-based non profits and charity organizations. There MicroGiving will monitor and personally oversee their facilities and operations.
The fun part is the fund part!
MicroGiving is managing an online donation fund, whereas all of the money donated will be distributed among these qualified non-profits and charities (MicroGiving’s India Fund fundraising page).
What exactly do your micro-donations help support?
Why the children of course! MicroGiving will be working side by side with these organizations to rescue children and families from the slums and red light districts.
Here’s a little background information you should know about the poverty in India and why MicroGiving is doing what we’re doing!
The FACTS
- 260 million children and families live below the poverty line
- 300 million poor families live on less than a $1 per day
- The number of poor families in India equates to a quarter of the world’s population
- India hosts the largest slums in the whole world
- 63 out of 1,000 children will die before the age of 5
The children who live in the slums often come from poor families and migrant farmers. They flee to the cities in search of opportunity: to find work and secure a better life. However, having no education or skills… they find themselves vulnerable in a threatening city far from the familiarity and safety of home.
In many cases, these children are forced to put food in their mouth by whatever means possible such as begging, petty theft, and prostitution.
Disadvantaged families, too, seek hope for a better life in the cities. Having no shelter, however, these families result to housing themselves in make-shift tents and shacks that dot the city streets. More fortunate families are able to find refuge in abandoned buildings, however they are often displaced by government officials.
MICROGIVING to the rescue!
MicroGiving aims to help fund nonprofit organizations and charities based in India that facilitate care centers for vulnerable children and families. These 24 hour facilities provide a clean and healthy environment, along with a quality education program for children to secure a better future.
Help us, help them!
You don’t need to be a philanthropist with oodles of money to make a difference in the lives of these families. All you need is a heart and a dollar!

Take care of these little feet
One day thier going to be big feet
Before they take thier first step
Let’s direct, teach and nurture them
because one day they will
be ladies and men
That will be holding our future
when they will be directing, teaching, and nuturing us
Take a little change to help our children
So our children can make the right BIG Steps!

I want to see more pics! If ya’ll have not seen Michelle’s last India pictures you should they are on the MicroGiving flickr page. Also check out the Vital website vitalforchildren.org if you want to know more about what these sweet children have to live with daily. While we in the US think we often have it rough….those images and stories will open your eyes. No matter how hard things are at home, it’s nothing compared to what these families live with.
MicroGiving also went on scene during the Iowa Floods to personally verify recipients and assist in community support for survivors of the flood.
I’m proud of MicroGiving and proud to be a part of such an awesome community who will come together to help those truly in need!

What do I think of your mission? 4 words…… I want to help! In any way possible.
And not just for the children and people of India, but right here in the US too.
That is why we donate to the Salvation Army, the donation is usually clothes, and a few bucks when we can, but I have seen the work of our local SA and the help that they give, first hand, when I volunteered. We also donate to The Goodwill, and St. Vincents DePaul.
Please tell me what I can do, to help the children and families of India, I would be honored. I too seen the pics posted on Vital site, and they not only touched my heart, but made me want to help even more.
A organization that I would like to see be helped by philanthropy is our local Habitat For Humanity Affiliate and Patchworks House. HFH is a wonderful organization who has helped millions of people all over the world. My obituary will read, that any memorial in my honor will go to our HFH. Patchworks House is a non-profit, They help thousands in our county. ( I have never had to use the services they offer, but have seen the good that they have done).

Not only will helping out with the MG fund for India help, but on Vital they sell tees and shopping bags. It’s something we can all use, and the money goes to helping the kids in India. I bought a bag, and let me tell you those things are the sturdiest bags I have ever seen!
I do quite a bit to help out in the US and locally but I must admit I’m not as good about helping out away from “home” MicroGiving does help bridge a gap in this area by bringing home those who do need our help.

I think that Microgiving is growing by leaps and bounds…and I also think that you are going to surprise yourselves, with just how huge your idea is going to catch on…
“In the minds of men, Empires begin”
Quote, my now deceased stepdad..
That was one of his favorites sayings..
I think that this is another way of letting us all give ‘hope’ to others…
Much more than just the money…but the fact that people care…
and that is the bottom line..

You got a PM Michelle. I’ll be glad to get another VITAL bag after I register my truck. Those bags are awesome and I like knowing that I can buy something my family needs as well as support another family in India with that purchase.
These bags are great for shopping, kids who visit relatives…they are big enough and sturdy enough to use to carry their stuff, going to the beach or on a picnics? Wouldn’t it be great to bring along a bag that helped support people in poverty? Oh and from personal experience I can tell you, it’s big enough and sturdy enough to carry a 20 pound frozen turkey without the bag handles cutting into your hand.
Did I mention it would help out the families in India?
