Community Fundraising Help
Many organizations are able to offer help to communities that are willing to hold fundraising events on their behalf. For example, if a community or local chapter of a regional or national fundraiser wants to hold an event to benefit the parent organization, the parent organization may offer support to make the local event a success.
There are several ways in which this can be accomplished. Typically, the regional or national charity has a newsletter, RSS feed, social network contacts (such as a Facebook page) and e-mail list that can help spread the word about the local event.
Fundraising in Your Community
Many organizations will supply fliers, press materials, promotional items or educational tools to help inform the public. Some organizations will also have volunteer rosters filled with people that may be able to lend a hand in organizing the event or participate in the event itself on the day it is held.
The benefits of receiving this sort of help are numerous. Exposure is one of the most important keys to holding a successful fundraising campaign. Regional and/or national organizations usually have the resources to spread the word about events; resources that a small community may not have. Also, charities often have a team of supporters that may assist in raising money and bringing in other supporters and donors. Larger groups may also be able to have items donated, whereas a small fundraising group may have to pay out for miscellaneous items.
