RULES & REGULATIONS
Anglers participating in MicroGiving’s Fishing Tournament are expected to conduct themselves
in a sportsmanlike manner and abide by the tournament rules and regulations as set forth
below. The Tournament is open to all desiring to enter. Commercial Charter Boats are
eligible (and available) only to the extent that their charter parties are the registrants.
No maximum amount of anglers per boat. All Florida and Federal fishing regulations apply.
No commercial equipment or electric reels - This is sport fishing.
Participants in the Tournament enter at their own risk. The MicroGiving Foundation and/or
any or all of their officials and members shall be exempt from any liability for loss,
damage, negligence, harm or injury suffered by the participant, entrant, angler, companies,
boat captains, crew members, vessels and equipment which may occur during the
Tournament.
All persons fishing SHOULD be PAID & REGISTERED by Friday June 19th Walk-ups are
accepted; you may register at the Key Lime House June 19th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

(If mailing reg. form, we must receive it 3 days prior to fishing tournament).
1. The Tournament is open to everyone!
2. Registered anglers are responsible for providing their own vessel and must
have a valid Florida fishing license.
3. Check out from one of the following 2 options: (1) check out your preapproved
inlet via VHF radio, or (2) check out from the Key Lime House (Public
Boat Ramp Lantana Florida) Check out starts at 6:30am, Lines in at 7:00am.
4. Fishing Hours: lines in at 7:00 am, lines out at 3:00 pm. All boats must
return to the Key Lime House dock and have their fish weighed in by 4:00 pm.
Once you have returned to the dock with your fish to be weighed, you MUST
check in at the Tournament Committee Table in order for your fish to count.
Weigh-in 12 noon to 4pm!
5. The tournament entry fee is $175.00 for four (4) Anglers; additional Anglers
may be registered for $45.00 per Angler.
6. There is no limit on Anglers.
7. There is no limit on the number of rods.
8. Live, dead and artificial baits are permitted. Live chumming is prohibited.
9. IGFA rules apply with the exception that wire lines are permitted. The use of
treble hooks and electric reels are prohibited. All fish must be caught on rod
and reel. No mutilated fish will be accepted.
9. The following species are allowed: Kingfish, Dolphin, and Wahoo. The minimum
weight requirement is ten (10) pounds per fish, per species. There is a maximum
of three (3) fish per species per boat that may be weighed in. You must adhere
to all state & federal fishing rules & regulations!
10. Fishing is only allowed within twenty-five (25) miles of the Florida Coast
Line. Bahamian waters are not permitted.
11. Official lines in and lines out will be announced on VHF radio, channel to be
announced at the captains meeting. There will be no other Committee Boat
announcements.
12. All fish to be weighed must be weighed at The Old Key Lime House and must
be brought to the dock on the boat they were caught on and weighed in by a
registered angler from the boat.
13. The Event Committee reserves the right to refuse tournament application or
entry from any prospective entrant with or without cause in its sole discretion.
Any applicant refused entry shall be entitled to a refund of entry fee.
14. Awards will be given for the following: The top 3 boats/teams with the
heaviest combination of any 3 eligible fish (1st $3,500, 2nd $2,000, 3rd $1,000).
The top 3 juniors (13 YO or younger) with the heaviest fish of any eligible
species (1st $300, 2nd $200 3rd $100). The heaviest BONITA fish ($500). Prizes
based on 40 boats. Trophies will be given to all winners!
15. In the case of a tie for an award, the earliest weigh-In time shall
determine the winner.
16. By entering into the tournament each contestant agrees to submit to a
polygraph test and abide by its conclusion. Polygraph test will be issued at the
discretion of the tournament directors. The results of the polygraph test are
final and cannot be protested or reviewed by a court of law. Failure to take,
pass and\or submit to the polygraph will result in disqualification of entire
team.
17. Decisions of the Event Committee are final and official. Any protest
concerning conduct or any angler or rule violation must be filed the day of the
alleged violation by a registered angler. Any protests must be in writing and in
the hands of the Tournament Committee prior to 4:00 pm on Tournament Day.
The Committee reserves the right to judge the qualifications of each entry and
the decision of the tournament committee will be final in all instances.
18. The tournament committee will monitor VHF radio Channel 78. Backup channel
is 74. Will confirm channel at the captains meeting!
19. Registration fees will be refunded in the event of a weather related
cancelation. Registration fees will not be refunded for any other reason.
