Hearing Aids for Africa

Got hearing aids hiding in storage somewhere? Or just laying around unused? Old hearing aids that's been put away since you got new ones to replace them? Hey, send in any hearing aids and/or spare hearing aid batteries that aren't being used, and they'll be donated to deaf kids in Burkina, Africa! I've just been approved for SSI, so I should be able to get the medical benefits through them to get the cochlear implant with, hopefully. I still need to get more information from the SSA office.  I've disabled my request on here for the time being. :)

whoa I've been MIASo I've been away from this place for a bit. Just been trying to keep busy and trying to figure out the insurance stuff. I have applied for SSI/SSDI in hopes they will accept my application. If I do get SSI/SSDI, then I could get Medicare which will help cover the cochlear implant.  Doctor and audiologist at Rocky Mountain Ear Center both encouraged me to try SSI. Appointment Date

Appointment DateI have an appointment set for May 5th at Rocky Mountain Ear Center in Englewood, Co. for another hearing test, and to see the surgeon Dr. Kelsall about the CT scan results and final determination of my candidacy for the cochlear implant. I will also be asking him for any funding ideas. He's the one who started the CNI Cochlear Implant Assistance Program where the implant would be donated.
