HI I am Amber and I am raising money to buy my 4 year old daughter a pool. It will not only be for her but she is the reason we need it. She has Chronic ITP. ITP is a autoimmune disese and also a blood disorder. Her body makes antibodies against her platelets. A normal platelet count is 150k to 450k. Kinleys have been as low as 1k before. The lower the count the higher the bleeding risk. If her count is low she is not allowed to climb, run, jump, things that a normal child her age should be able to do. She is not allowed to have bikes, trampolines, skates, swings, slides,or anything like that. At certian levels she is at risk for bleeds in the brain, stomach from a hit, and at even lower levels she is at risk for bleeding in the brain, stomach, any soft tissue, eyes, ears, nose, private areas, any moist areas. She was gave a scooter like toy that she can ride if her counts are in a normal range and so far she has not been allowed to ride it. This disorder is like riding a roller coaster that you are not allow to get off of. For example one morning she was fine playing by noon she was laying on the couch I picked her up and carried her to lay on the bed to watch tv and went to get something and when I came back she had handprints from where I picked her up in bruises. Her count was down to 22k but she had no other signs that she had dropped other than being to tired to play. There is a few signs that can indicate she is dropping for us one is tiredness, two is bruises, freckle like bruises, believe it or not the boxer she was raised with will not leave her side.

I have been asked why cant we just go to a ymca or a local pool.
we do not have a YMCA or anything like it here, We live in a very small town. And the reason we can not go to our local pool is because it is made of concrete. A lot of parents drop off their kids at the pool and leave them and I am talking at least a hundred or two kids running every where, I can not risk her getting knocked down or stepped on.
I have been asked why not an intex or a pvc framed pool.
We tried the intex pool and we could not get it to level. It wanted to roll and that is a risk Im not willing to take. Also these have to be put up and took down and doing that with the other pool put many holes in the liner.

I have been asked what if I dont raise the money in time.
I will keep working to raise the money until I have enough, I will keep her in when everyone else is playing, I will take her to walmart or the dollar tree to keep her from begging to go play with the kids outside.
[
u]I have been asked how I will be able to maintain the pool if I cant not buy it without help
The price of clorine and the other chemicals are nothing compared to the actual cost of the pool. A bucket of tablets are about 50 bucks and last all summer. I clean the pool daily and it doesnt get in bad shape. We moniter everyone while in the pool so we do nothave to get a bunch of extras.

Why this Kind of pool?
In one word Warrenty and also the fact that my neighbor has one that is about 20 years old and is still going. You can leave them up all year so there is not risk of tearing it up putting it up and down and I dont have to store it.

Will she be safe and what about Annabell she is delayed would she get in it and drowned.
My children are not allowed near the pool without an adult and permission. Annabell is delayed and is watched very closely she is never out of our site. We have a fence up with locks.

There are so many other with needs greater than a pool how do you justify asking people to donate money to a pool when others need help with food, water, electric, things like that.

I cant but I am a mother trying to give her child a life with a normal safe activety, I have never told anyone that this pool should come before anything else. I myself gave 25 dollars I had raised to someone who needed it more. I will say this now if there is anyone that you feel is more deserving please give it to them, We will live without this pool, you can not live without food.

I hope this answer some of the questions anyone had. If I get any more questions I will add them to this. I am just trying to be as honest as I can. Thank you
Amber

Amber, I don't know how other people's questions came across originally, or who asked them, but I have to say that you answered them in a positive and helpful way. It would have been so easy to write a 'how dare you question my needs' journal. Thank you for keeping a positive attitude! HUGS! Kindall

Thank you for taking the time to answer some of those questions. I wish you and sweet Kinley the very best of luck.
