I am set to have reconstructive surgery on my right knee. They plan to go in clean up the knee and they take out the torn ACL (I have a complete tare so its not able to repair itself) and then drill holes in the bones above and below the knee then put in a cadaver ACL (ie a donated ACL) then they will attach it with screws and pins. I am really afraid to have this done but I have been in constant pain since I fell on March 7th so I really don't have a choice but to do this. I want to have a life with less pain. When this is done I won't be able to walk for awhile and they will do physical therapy at my home then eventually move me to do therapy at the pt office. I have had to move from my third floor walk up apartment to a home I am renting from my brother in order to be able to have the surgery. The apartment I was in provided the washer and dryer but of course the house I am renting doesn't. If I was able I would go to the laundry mat which is a few block away but with the surgery on Thursay May 13 it's going to be impossible for me to walk much less drive (which since my car is out of commission is impossible anyway.). So I really really need to get a washer and dryer so that my kids can have clean clothes for school. I have two teenage boys. I have found a place that sells used washers and dryers that they will come to your home and repair if you have any problems with them. The problem is they are $100.00 each and I just don't have the money. I am on disability and my income is so fixed that its already streched so thin. Its just not possible for me to buy a washer and dryer and still be able to pay the bills. I really need some help with this so that I can have some freedom to do the things that I need to do to take care of my family.
