Amy and I took part in the Holiday Run for Helping hands.  She didn't get the day off as we had hoped but the run was set to start at 1 PM and she didn't need to be into work till 2 PM so we hoped we could do the run and get her back in time to go to work.  We have only missed one Helping Hands run and that was the year I didn't have a wheelchair or a scooter and was seriously limited in mobility  I am able to get around now and we sure didn't want to miss one that helps children who have been abused or neglected.

Here are a few pics from that run:

Here is the article from the local newspaper

Annual Toy Run at Helping Hands makes children's Christmas brighter

As the bikes rode in and the children began to see the toys and teddy bears attached to the bikes, their eyes lit up with joy. The sight of hundreds of bikes, while overwhelming, brought such excitement.

As each biker parked their bike, they gathered their gifts and made a steady stream into Helping Hands, leaving their gifts on a table. Each wore a smile knowing they were making a child's holiday a little brighter.

"It is really great to see so many people show up even when things are really hard," said Director of Helping Hands Carmen Landy. "It is really awesome. We are blessed to see them over and over; they don't stop coming no matter how tough things get with the economy. Today is a remarkable turnout, and everybody's spirits are so high."

Landy thanked everyone who has supported Helping Hands over the past year and invites anybody who is interested in adopting a child for Christmas to give her a call at 648-3456.

"We get new children all the way up until Christmas Day," said Landy.

Helping Hands is a United Way agency that provides 24-hour residential care to child victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect. Residents' ages range from birth to 21 years old.

The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Golf & Dinner Fundraiser
On July 13, 2006, our twenty one year old son, Bobby was killed in an automobile accident. The very moment Bobby left us, our lives changed forever. Out of our pain and grief, The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation began.

Our foundation is growing as the need to provide help to grieving families continues to expand. Every hour of every day, another child leaves this world too soon, leaving behind
 broken hearts & shattered dreams.

The Foundation’s Mission is to provide families help in the healing process after their child has passed away. We offer a beautiful wall-mount portrait of their child, grief counseling and a Criminal Justice Scholarship fund.  It is our hope that, with your contributions, we can assist many families in the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. We have recently
expanded our portrait services to reach families throughout the entire United States!

Our third annual Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation Golf Tournament and
Dinner Banquet Charity Fundraiser
will be held on November 5th and 6th, 2009 - respectively at the TPC - Heron Bay Golf Club in beautiful Coral Springs, Florida. The banquet will include dinner, award presentations, live entertainment, door prizes, raffles, live & silent auctions and a special presentation on Bobby Resciniti. This very special evening will be emceed by former Miami Dolphin and current WQAM morning show host, Joe Rose!
World renown artist—Michael Israel will perform and we will have many local sports and entertainment celebrities.   Gifted singer songwriter, Alan Perderson will perform and we will also have a very special guest singer—Nick Perman perform a very special song, Chelsea’s Rose in honor of sweet Angel, Chelsea Stapleton.

This annual event would not be possible without contributions from people like you. The   loss of a child is the worst experience that a family can go through.  Together, we can ease the pain of countless families across South Florida and beyond. We are looking for items that may be raffled and auctioned— of course other donations are always welcome!
Should you have any questions about the golf tournament, event sponsorship, or donation of auction/raffle items, please contact the Foundation’s office at (561) 603-3819 or
(561)441-5476. Your donated
items may also be mailed to:

much needed and worthy cause…improving the lives of families throughout the USA!

Donate for my Autistic Kid!

Hi! I am Paul Abayon. First of all, this is not a scam or anything alike. Just a Genuine Loving Father doing an Honest Personal Charity for My Son and nothing else!

I have 2 kids; Kenneth (eldest son) & Samuel (youngest son). Recently, my eldest son named Kenneth Walter Abayon has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) by our child psychologist Dr. Espina here in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.

Having been several discussions with the doctor, she proposed a program to possibly treat my son to grow up as a normal kid as he should be.The doctor advised us to have a monthly sessions with her & advice to let our son be enrolled in a normal school given that a regular SPED (Special Education) tutor is monitoring his studies, atleast, 3 times a week. That will cost us an extra $171 (P8,000) per month. Here are the details below:
*Psychology session will cost us $43 (P2,000) per session/month
*SPED Tutor will cost us $128 (P6,000) per month

Me, having double jobs already, and my wife too only give us a total net monthly income of $320 (P15,000) minus our consumptions, electric/water bills, rent, etc... we can only support his school tuition fee of $43 (P2,000). So as you can see the numbers, we can no longer stretch the budget.

So for those with kind hearts, you can donate any amount to sustain my son's program per month. We will greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much & God Bless You All!
