Biography

I live in a very small town in western NY state 2 miles outsde of town on an old farm. I have a wonderful Life Partner, Lori, who is my angel through everything. I love to be outdoors whether it's gardening, camping, fishing or just being. I try very hard to be as self-suffciant as I can. I am working on getting SSDI because I have numerous emotional and health issues but I try real hard not to let them bring me down:)
I am a very earth connected person who is always searching for natural ways of doing and making things.
At some point in my life my dream is to be totally self-sufficent by growing my own food, recycling greywater, providing my own electric and just being one with the earth.
I have 1 wonderful daughter who lives in Calabash,NC with her husband and my 2 grandchildren. I really miss them:(

My Purpose

I love helping others and animals. At this time I am trying to set up a non-profit org. to distribute pet food to those in need. There is a real need for that in my area. I'm hoping it will help owners not to have to make a choice of losing a family member or caring for it.
Eventualy I hope to establish an emergency care fund for owners also.
I have worked with animals my whole life and really enjoy helping them anyway I can. I am truely hoping to be able to teach my granddaughter the ways of the earth and it's care.

Name :Brenda Relationship: daughter Name : Juliahana & Dru Relationship: grandchildren Recent changes in my life : I have had to go to a lot of Dr.s appointments recently due to SSDI but also because now they say I have a bulging disc in my back . I have depended on others to take me to the appointments and have had to cancel many of them because I could not find anyone or something comes up for them at the last minute. We have no public transportation in this area. No buses, no cabs nothing. There are times when it is imparative that I get to my appointments for my mental health and getting my medications. Right now, I'm surviving on a very limited income due to not being able work anymore. Favorite board game Life What is most important thing in your life? I'm home and ALIVE!!

I have to say it feels good to be alive!!
I just spent 13 days in the hospital due to my depression and attempting suicide. 3 of those days were in ICU. I guess I died once but they brought me back. This was very scary because I have not done this before.
It's strange that I can offer help to others who need it but I don't help myself. I need to rethink that!

Description: I am requesting help in purchasing a car so I can get to my Dr.s appointments. I live in a very small town and we have no public transportation. I have alot of medical issues and need to go to appointments every 10 days or so. Right now I am depending on others to get me there but I've had to cancel appointments because I have no ride. At this time I am on PA while working on getting SSDI because I cannot work. My mental issues are addressed weekly by my counsler and that is how I get my meds. for it. I have very bad depression and literally need them to live. I have found a car already and have gotten the person to reduce it from $1000 to $500 but he won't take payments. I called DMV to find out how much it would cost to get it registered and such. It will be about $200. As a plus, my Aunt has offered to pay my insurance for a year if I can get the car so I don't have to worry about that. I'm hoping that someone can help out with this but I also realize there are many other people asking for help. Thank you for reading this:)

What local/other agencies have you contacted?: Social Services, I've checked out several sites about donated cars.

Did you get denial letters? (if so are they attached to your request?): No they don't provide them.

What other sources of income do you or your family receive?: I just get Public Assistance and food Stamps at this time. I have applied for SSDI.

I would suggest NOT contacting any donor by email.  If a donor wishes
to help on MicroGiving they have all the tools available to help.  If
there is information that could help the forum is a great place to
share that info.
