Biography:
My name is sharon and I am 35 years old. I have lived in Cedar Rapids,Iowa my entire life. I graduated high school in 1992. I had my son in 1996, his name is Andrew. My family consist of 2 adults and one child. We are a happy family. We enjoy Trout fishing and camping. My son will turn 12 Sept. 27th this year. We were evacuated from our home on June 11th, 2008, because flood waters were coming from the Cedar River. We were renters, not owners of our home, but we had lived there 6 years. My son was getting ready to start middle school. Up until a couple of weeks ago, we didn't know where we were going to end up living because our landlord is not being permitted to rebuild. With the help of a kind soul, we were surprised when a stranger helped us find the perfect home and it was in the same school district. We have been on a BAD roller coaster. We have received some rental assistance from FEMA, but had to fight tooth and nail, REALLY. So we are on our way to recovery, we feel blessed and yet sad for those who still have uncertainty. We are an everyday hard working family. When I was 16 years old, one of my parents became ill. After a couple years of surgeries and more doctors, it seemed(he/she)would die. We were sent to more doctors, and pretty soon, no doctors wanted to see us. They couldn't figure out what the problem was. Then the doctors started to prescribe heavy pain pills. My parent would wake up only once, in a 24hr. period. The dose was lethal, and (he/she) stopped taking them. My parent hasn't seen a doctor for about 17 years. Although in pain a lot of the time, has learned to live with it and suffer quietly. This last winter I became a full time caregiver to my dying grandmother, along with my mother and step father. Grandma had 6 children and tons of great-grandchildren. We were the only 3 people in the world who would help her stay at home for her last days. She died of cancer March 25. At the beginning of August one of my son's baby teeth came out. The next day his mouth wasn't working right. 2 days later he was diagnoised with Bells Palsy. He has taken medicine and it seems to have gone away, although the doctors say it can come back at any point in his life. Since the flooding, I had problems sleeping and even eating from all the stress. Thanks to the angel who helped us find a home, I no longer suffer with sleepless nights. Thank you Microgiving, for providing a place for us and others in need. We have already signed up as donors, and when we can, will help someone else who needs a help up. Sharon K.
My Purpose

Thank you. The only problem I'm having now is that Microgiving keeps rejecting my request for help because they want proof and everytime I send them a message to find out what kind of proof they want they never get back to me. Do you know what i can do?
