Biography

I'm a mom of three wonderful girls, previously working as a copywriter/journalist. I moved to North Pole for more opportunities. My landlord was an alcoholic and as I was on the phone one night, attacked me and went after my children. I defended my family, then grabbed the kids and we ran. Still unfamiliar with the area and it being 2am, I stopped at the first hotel I found and stayed. We ended up at the Domestic Violence Shelter in Fairbanks, but they only let you stay three weeks. We're back at the hotel, after making a deal with the manager. She was very sweet! So that's where we're stuck now.

My Purpose

My purpose for being here is looking for help. If you read about me, you know we're stuck in Fairbanks, AK. I dropped my police complaint against my landlord when the shelter told us we ran out of time, but have finally become angry enough at him and his wife for keeping our stuff, including our car, that I am in the process of filing in small claims court for medical, the cost of my vehicle, and the stuff they kept of ours.
But...I could use help doing that. We need groceries, money to file in small claims court, and enough to get us two or three more suitcases and the cost of carrying them on the plane. (we have the tickets to leave here at the beginning of June)

Recent changes in my life : Moved to North Pole AK, now in Fairbanks, on my way back to lower 48. Favorite board game Scrabble! What is most important thing in your life? Comedy If you could build a house anywhere, where would it be? Oregon What is your greatest ambition? To raise the best three humans that ever existed! Who is the person from you past you wish you could go back and talk to? My mom. What characteristics do you think you've inherited from your parents? Hopefully not dying young. HA (mom) From dad? Love of music. What do you never leave home without? I'm not a stuff person, so as long as I'm dressed, I'm fine with leaving. Who would you most like to meet? Robin Williams or Bette Middler If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? Check it with security pens to make sure it was real What is the most embarrassing thing youve ever done? Accidentally cussed out loud in church when lightening almost hit the window by me Hobbies and Talents : Writing is my passion. I never thought I'd be good enough, but about two years ago I was in college and "fell" into a job copywriting and doing photography. I loved it, then reported for a newspaper and did their photos for a short time. Wrote for businesses, politicians, etc.. I love creative writing the most though, and one day will have to find a way to do that part of writing and get paid for it! List achievements and any future educational plans : Three wonderful children. Getting stories/photographs in print. Being able to make one mean, delicious cheesecake!

Hi Gina,  I would suggest using next day or second day services to get
your documentation into MicroGiving.  MicroGiving stopped permitting
Fax/Email documentation so snail mail is the only method accepted.
