Biography

I am a single Foster Father and Foster Grandfather. We are needing assistance at this moment making the money last to the end of the month. I work as a school bus driver... my son has lost his job.. and his girlfriend (mother of the grandchild) has left us. There is hope for him to get another job.. but it will only be part time delivering pizzas (better than nothing) My salary barely covers the rent and utilities so what we need is help purchasing food and gasoline (so we can get to work).

My Purpose

I am here reluctantly. I have always been self reliant but recently things have gotten to the point where I worry every day about even having the gas to make it to work... so here I am... doing something I would not normally do... ask for help... If I am able to get the help I need now... I plan to help others in the future... thanks for stopping by and considering me.

Description: Currently, my income barely covers the rent and utilities for the house we are in. It leaves on average about $50 per month for food. His paycheck barely covers diapers and such for his baby boy plus some food for the household. There is nothing left over for savings to be used to purchase a vehicle.

Description: I am seeking help with my Febuary 2009 rent so that I can purchase food and gasoline. My salary just does cover the rent and utilities...and left $100 for Gas and food for the month of January.

My progress: Things are getting better...We have been able to keep the rent and utilities paid, barely.. Food Banks have been helping but they only provide canned veggies for the most part. No meats or milk.. Would love to be able to purchase a couple of boxes from Angel Foods Ministries.

This is a short term need assistance request for a family of 2 adults & 1 children

My message:Thanks to all for considering my request for assistance. I have always been one to be a giver and hate to be the one asking for help. I have been supporting my son and grandson as my son has been attempting to find work. He just started a new job and we need a little help with the rent to get us over this bad patch of road.

Who I am:
I am Bill and I am a single foster father of a now 21yo son who has provided me with a "grandson". I am 49yo and work driving a school bus for my local school board. My foster son works for a pizza delivery place.

What I need and what brought me to MicroGiving:
ON Dec 29 I was take by ambulance to a local hospital with chest pains. It was determined I was having a heart attack and they did an emergency angioplasty during which 2 stents were inserted into my right coronary artery. Later they told me that the artery has a 100% blockage.

My circumstance and my need for help:
Because of this incident, I am unable to return to work for at least 4 to 6 weeks. It could be more... I am not sure at this time. I do not have the sick days to cover for that long a period. so I will be without a paycheck during this period of time. At this time I am asking for some help just paying my regular household bills plus some food until I am allowed to return to work.

Any Supports other than Microgiving:
Currently I have only been able to seek help from my family. My parents and sister paid for my prescriptions upon my release from the hospital on 12/31/09 I am unsure if I will qualify for food stamps at this time.
