Biography
I am a single mother with two beautiful children. As of right now, I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter turing 3 in July 2010. I recently have been blessed with a 7 week old son delivered by c-section. I am hard-working, and making my children happy and making sure that they have everything that they need is my first priority. I am trying to get back into school to advance my education. I currently have 2 years of college education under my belt. I try not to rely on anyone for anything that I need, but given our current economical situation in our country, I am having to put my pride aside, and ask for help. I am so used to being the helper. Well, if there is anything else that you would like to know, send me a message. Thanks for reading. Be Blessed!!

My new baby boy!!
Aishani and mommy-mommy daughter day, after c-section. She told her nana the night before, "I miss my mommy". Therefore, stitches and all, I took her with me to my follow up appointment. We spent the whole day together, just us!!

My daughter has great artistic ability @ 2 years old.

Posted on Sun 23 May, 05:40 pm

So, I was making lunch for my daughter, and she pulled out an index card and started doodling.  She says, "Look mommy, eyes!!"  I looked down, and their were two dots on the paper.  I continued warming up her food in the microwave, and then she said, "Look mommy"!! When I looked down, I saw a face.  I could actually make out a human face!!  For the body, she didn't draw a stick figure, she actually drew a body and arms.  I had to do a double take! My daughter is an artist, naturally.  Keep in mind, she is only 2 years old. She will be 3 in July.  Later that day, she also drew a fish.  I work with her on her alphabet and the spelling of her name and shapes, but I can't draw worth a lick, so I don't know where she learned to draw with such natural ability.   >>>

Just for the record. It's not acceptable to send emails, private
messages or profile comments asking any donor or sponsor to visit your
profile or to help with your needs. Ashanti, I know you have not done
this and I thank you. I'm posting the message on your profile because
it was suggested and I wanted to make it clear that it is unacceptable
and it can get your profile removed from the community.

Getting on the front page requires a level 3 status and regular
community activity. That is judged by your login record, your forum
participation and journal/photo activity.

Many tend to say..I don't have time for that, but raising donations is
just like earning a paycheck. You get what you put into it. No boss
is going to give a paycheck if you don't have time to work for it and
no donor will help if you don't have time to work at your community
service. We spotlight those who work at their profiles and work to
help others within the community even if it's just lending a bit of
support and advice.

You have done all the RIGHT things Ashanti, that is why you are on the
front page and your personal forum thread is seen on social networks
and RSS feeds.

@ Brooks, I think that I did send John an email, but I didn't
"beg" for help. Just posting this info is enough of a
bashing to my pride. ;)

@ Brooks, I have noticed that I am on the front page sometimes when I
sign in. Childrepn and Families does nothing in the state of Florida
for this type of help. I was actually in line at Neighborhood
services to see if they would help @ 4 am in the morning, only to be
told when the doors opened at 7:30 am that they could not help. What
a shame I think to myself. I could just give in and say hey, nobody
wants to help??? Well, I will just contribute to the negative ongoings
in the neighborhoods that I can "afford" to move into, but
the person that I am just cannot do that. Thank you for your
suggestions Brooks!!

Use a lot of prayer. Keep talking to Children and famlies for help.
Write John on this site to see if he will help. Talk to Becky to see
if she can put you on the front page.

That is what I meant. The AOL service uses the Internet Explorer
engine. It's been a long time since I was on AOL so I didn't know if
they were doing tabbed browsing yet or not. I'll pass this on to
development though and see what he thinks you can do. I'm sorry about
that, this is the first time we have had an AOL issue.
Becky Raymond: Administrator May 24, 2010 04:23:05
I am pretty sure AOL uses the IE browser engine. Do you have tabbed
browsing so that you could open the forum in it's own window?
Becky Raymond: Administrator May 24, 2010 01:36:41
If you are using Internet Explorer the navigation canceled message is
pretty common. I suggest first logging into MicroGiving then open
another browser tab and go to microgiving.com/forum If you don't see
all the forums just refresh the window, it takes a second to recognize
your login. The problem is that the forum is in an IFrame and
sometimes explorer has an attitude when it comes to frames.
