About this Project
I am currently a VFR Private Pilot, got my license Oct 31, 2010. Since that time I have been trying to find funding to assist with my charity work and provide scholarships / grants to adult pilots seeking to further
their ratings.
I am a 49 year old, Hispanic male. I currently volunteer with the Civil
Air Patrol and Pilot's N Paws animal rescue, and would like to work with
rural medical / patient flights, however my volunteer ability and
options
for flying as Pilot In Command, are strictly limited by my level of training and experience, and I am currently
prohibited from performing charity flights transporting people.
Pictures from my first rescue for Dachsund Rescue of Houston can be
seen here ->
First Rescue FlightI know I am not the only pilot in this situation, and in my research I
have found there are plenty of funding options for scholarships /
grants for high school and college students, but very few, if no options
that I could find for minority adult training, other than loans.
What I would like to accomplish is to use this experience and process
to provide options for underfunded pilots and students to complete and advance their training and to give back by supporting our preferred
charity networks. If everyone that sees this donates just $ 1 or $ 2, we get closer to our goal of providing
additional charitable services throughout the Gulf Coast area.
I appreciate everyone's time and consideration, and any assistance that can be provided.
Thank You.
