Biography
I have owned and opperated The Double Inn Bar and Restaraunt in its current location for the last 10 years. All together at previous locations its approaching 15 years. Since then it's become a town favorite where regulars and locals enjoy to come relax in a friendly environment and enjoy great food and drink specials.
The bar is known for its great food and wide array of games. We had a wonderful staff full of friendly and hard-working people who are now jobless until we can get the doors back open. Not only is this business my families present and future but a staple of Cedar Rapids. We've rebuilt a business damaged by a flood before, but this will be a tougher hill to climb as the damages are much more severe. This business means everything to us, we've put everything we've got into it for the last 12 years, and hope to be able to for more.
My Purpose
Much of the mud hauling and washing has been completed; we are now waiting on SBA to stary the rebuild. We have not recieved any grants of any kind yet and time is ticking by for not only me but my 13 other employees as well. We are also gratefully accepting donations to help us replace our damaged equipment, supplies and inventory. We appreciate everything you can do and have done and in time we will re-open and be even more prosperous than before.

Inside the Double Inn Bar. We forget we left $2,000 in the cash register so we went back to retrieve it.
My progress: We did not have flood insurance, but we have taken the steps to file for FEMA aid. We will
not let this get us down, and we plan to rebuild.
The rebuild could start us in a hole of almost a half-million dollars.
This is a short term need assistance request for a family of 2 adults & 4 children
My message:A lot of people were affected by (the flood) and there's no time to feel sorry for yourself," Mike said. "Especially business-wise, because you have to get back open. The longer we sit down all our employees are out of a job, including me and my son.
Thank you to all of you who have donated money, time, supplies, energy, everything! We feel so blessed to be part of such a community of people.
Supporting Documentation: Mike & Mike has the following documentation

What local/other agencies have you contacted?: SBA
Did you get denial letters? (if so are they attached to your request?): No... we hope to get approved for the loan soon.
What other sources of income do you or your family receive?: The bar was our main source, only source, of income. Its been over 2 months now of no income... and every day that we are not in business is costing us money. The sooner we can reopen the better.
