Biography:
I am the sponsorship chair for the 2008 Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward a Cure in Greater Baltimore/DC.

I put my heart and soul into this fundraiser in honor of my daughter who suffers from peanut and treenut allergies.

My Purpose
Approximately 12 million people, or 4% of the United States population, suffer from food allergy. Severe reactions result in more than 30,000 trips to emergency room departments and an estimated 150 to 200 deaths each year in the U.S. One out of every 17 children under the age of 3 has a food allergy. A diagnosis of a food allergy elicits many feelings for the person’s entire family- frustration, fear, and isolation.

Can you imagine how it must feel to be a child and know that one bite of the wrong cookie could kill you within minutes?

Last year, almost 1,000 families from the Greater DC/Baltimore area walked with family teams, company teams or as individuals and raised over $130,000 to help find a cure for food allergies. This year, the walk held on Saturday, October 4th at Meadowbrook Park in Ellicott City, Maryland will be an amazing family event for the Greater DC and Baltimore area.

Since the walk itself is FREE, we rely on generous donations and sponsorships from the community. Please support this amazing organization that supports and protects people with food allergies!

Best of luck with this fund raiser. I wish you great success! I suffer a serious allergy to tartrazine which is found in yellow #5. I was rushed to the ER once with a severe and life threatening allergic reaction from yellow dye in vitamin b tablets. Scared me for life, I have to watch every single thing that goes into or on my body and I'm suppose to wear a medic alert (mine was lost a while ago and can't afford a new one) but many meds given in the ER contain yellow #5
