Biography
I am a happily married(23 yrs.) mother of 2, one son who is serving in the Marine Corps, and one daughter who is a junior in high school. Both my children have served with me in Haiti, and my husband will be accompanying me for the first time this year. My husband and I met while we both were serving in the US Navy. We are youth leaders at our church and are very active in our music programs. I have served in Haiti now 6 years, and will be returning with our mission team this July. I have joined this program because I am dedicated to raising the vital financial support to provide the children and families I work with, a chance at a better life, for clean water, nutritious food, for an education, and most of all to bring the Word of Jesus Christ to people and share His hope. I know God has placed this burden for Haiti on my heart, and I have chosen to follow where He leads me, and serve in any capacity He empowers me to do so.
My Purpose
The Vision Statement of the mission I work with, International Sports Alliances is this: Uniting the resources of our world with the needs of another, the International Sports Alliance exists to make a significant and enduring difference in the lives of the world's impoverished by extending a helping and serving hand. We support and preserve human life by nurturing hope, building character, and advancing the dignity of every child.
ISA, Inc. exists because God has called us. He sustains us, He guides us, and He receives all the praise and honor.

Never take life for granted!!!

Never take life for granted!!!To anyone who may stop by and read this journal, I feel led to share these thoughts that are so heavy on my heart.  These past few days have been some of the most difficult I have ever experienced, as I watched my mother struggle to return from the stroke she suffered 2 weeks ago.  She was an incredibly healthy, active and vibrant woman, still very young at 75..an amazing artist and musician, full of life and her love for the Lord.  In an instant that has changed, and in it's place is a woman who is of sound mind, but in a body that no longer works and is quickly deteriorating.  Her life lessons that she taught me and my siblings suddenly have become painfully real to me now.  I have taken a harsh look at my life, my own health, and my priorities.  So many years I have had reasons why I did not return home for a visit - no time off, too expensive, to name a couple of my lame excuses.  I did, however, have plenty of time a  >>>

Hey everyone. I hope the summer is starting out full of blessings to
all of you out there!! I will be making some changes to my account
this week, so if anyone is following my progress or reading my
journal, just hang in there with me while I make the necessary
changes. I've been out of the loop for a couple weeks because my mom
suffered a massive stroke, and I had to fly home to help in her care.
I hope to be back up and running again by the end of this week.
Everyone have a blessed Monday!!!

Hi, just wanted to stop by see how you were doing and wish you an
awesome weekend. :)

A broken ankle sure does take priority! My goodness, I'm sorry. I
hope she heals quickly.

In your Media section put a check in the box next to all photos you
wish to delete. At the bottom of the page there is an option to
delete checked photos.

Hey I do that too. The only reason I could find all the documents
needed was because when it comes to my son I keep all his health and
medical things together in a laptop case. It makes it all easy to
find and I never know when I will need it.

dropping in to say hi. I saw you were on line and wanted to wish you
a happy day. :)

Your request is actually well done. For your request, short, factual
and descriptive are what you want. Save the elaborate details for
your bio and journal. You are doing just that so you are doing fine
:) Yes your journal is visible to the public. I suggest adding some
photos to your media section and making them visible as well.
Pictures, videos and good journaling will help you in a big way.

I'm sorry I think this may be a question for rayhawk I posted a thread
to ask her. She will explain it when she comes on later.

I see a pic of you that you are online but I see the cartoon as the
avatar it may just take time to catch up. Sometimes avatars do that.
Michie Apr 18, 2009 22:36:20
Try this edit the cartoon pic by putting a check on the spot that
makes it so no one can see it then update and only mark one as being
able to see it. I think it may make the one you want to use your
profile pic then after its all updated check it and go back and make
the rest viewable but not the cartoon pic. does that make sense? I
am just thinking this will work but I am not positive.
Michie Apr 18, 2009 22:29:59
Don't start over let me go look at mine and I will get back with you.
Let me make sure I can explain it right. Don't feel like an idiot how
do you think I am learning by trying and making mistakes. lol
