Biography

I am a 55 year old native of Eastern Ky. I am married, but I have no children of my own. I need dental work badly. My bottom teeth are discolored and my gums have shrunk back and look horrible. I always see shock and revulsion on peoples' faces when I talk to them and my self-esteem suffers much. You will never see me smile in pictures.

My Purpose

Everyday I visualize how I would look without damaged teeth. This is a big wish, and a selfish one, but for this morning I will believe that it's ok to ask for something for myself.

Not an extremely successful one, but an interesting one, to be sure. I lived in Germany for 14 yrs. The adjustment of coming back was worse than when I went to Germany. Improve quality of life

Description: I need help getting my bottom front teeth fixed. I would so much love to be able to smile and talk to people without being embarrassed about the way my mouth looks. I had my upper teeth pulled and then went for an entire year with no denture. Finally I saved up enough to get an economy set which break every three or four months, but I can live with that. What I cannot do is save enough to cover the cost of veneers for my bottom teeth. My dentist tells me that is the only solution as the teeth are still strong, just very ugly. I am disabled due to spinal stenosis and depression and receive very little social security. I found this site as a last resort. My life would improve so much with new teeth.

My dentist will not pull the teeth as they are still strong, just very ugly. The only solution is veneers and I will never be able to save up enough to cover that. I had my upper teeth pulled a few years ago it I had to go without upper teeth for over a year while I saved enough for an economy plate. They are not well-made and break every 3 or 4 months, but I can live with that, at least they are teeth. This site is a shot-in-the-dark last resort but I am hoping for help.

I am pretty lucky.  I don't have any teeth...well I have no upper
teeth and only 5 lower teeth, none in the front on the bottom.  I
can't afford the implants I need or the more costly major surgery to
plane down the bone and clean up the gums for dentures.  I have been
toothless for nearly 9 years but luckily I have never seen a shock and
revulsion nor have I ever had any questions asked unless we happened
to be talking about dental care issues.  I'm really sorry that people
have treated you so badly just because of having bad teeth.  That is
just as wrong as staring at someone or being repulsed by anyone with a
physical or mental disability.  It should say more about their
personality than to lower your self esteem.

I hope you can find the help you need so you can smile again.  Like I
said I'm lucky I have never faced such an issue, but I can imagine how
it would hurt your feelings, nobody should have to be embarrassed over
a medical condition.
