Biography
I am a 34 yr old disabled mother of 2 kids. I am married.
I live in Tenn,but orig from Ohio. I am very caring, loving, honest. I love helping others, just not always able to.
I am shy til I get to know someone, but eventually I come around.
My husband and kids are my everything, my kids come before anyone else.
I help at my daughter's school twice a week and I enjoy it very much, it gives me a little extra time with my daughter, but yet helping others.
My Purpose
I joined Microgiving to help when I can and to receive help.
I am a very giving person, but also going through rough times, but it makes me feel good to be able to help others, not just receive.
I am member of WUAH, the local freecycle here and the Memphis garage sale site.I do want everyone to know if you help us, proof of everything can be provided. I don't want a hand out, just a hand up, if that makes since.

need help to get a new dryer please
Description: My dryer went out and we cannot afford a new one at this time. My husband just got back to work after being off almost a year and his hours are just now picking up(he is still only get 25 hrs a week), so were playing catch up on the bills. I have looked at a few places at dryers and they are not cheap. I have looked at Sears, Lowe\'s and home Depot, the prices range from 229.00 and up. I have been going to the laundromat, but it gets expensive after a while.\r\n\r\nAny help is appreciated\r\n\r\n**UPDATE** \r\nSince I was able to pay most of this had and I received, the people I am getting the used dryer from is going to let me pays a little every 2weeks, since I only owe them 25.00.\r\n\r\nty for the donation

Description: My fridge went out, we had to have rent-a-center come look at it, the seals give way. They did give me a loaner til mine is fixed, but in the mean time we are short on food. I can't go to the food pantry for 2 months, considering we just went on the 31st of March.
Here is who I tried contacting:
Memphis Food Bank
Raleigh Church, they had a night we could go eat, but its a once a month thing
Leewood Baptist Church, can't get help through their food pantry for 2 months
Memphis Counseling Center,45.00, 15.00 was used for gas.
our parents, my mom, she has enough to pay her rent and get her medicines, my FIL, he just said he couldn't, but he has always been like that
Holy Rosary, give us enough for 2 days when it first went out
3.00 from a grantor on WUAH, 2 others granted, waiting to see if they come this week.
DHS, already got food stamps and told to call LINC
Salvation Army, they aren't helping with food or financial anymore.
There were other places too

gas help for hubby to get to and from work
Description: I didn't even want to ask for help, but I don't know what else to do. My husband started a full time job on Monday and he needed dress shoes and dress pants for the job, so for him to continue with this job I took what I had left and got them, but in the meantime it left me short on getting gas for him to go to work.
We figured with gas being 3.70/gal, 25.00 plus the 7.00 we will be getting through WUAH will give him a half a tank and since we don't go anywhere he would be able to get to and from on it.
Salvation Army here doesn't help with financial needs anymore.

Description: My husband was laid off from his job on June 26th, now he needs to go look for another
one, but I have no money for him to go do so.
My progress: I don't get paid til Friday and will be able to get some gas then for him to go out in
Aug.
This is a one time only expense assistance request for a family of 2 adults & 2 children
My message:i don't like asking for help and wish i wasn't back here having to, but I have asked locally and no one helps with gas

Did you get denial letters? (if so are they attached to your request?): no, our case is pending, they have 45 days to decide
What other sources of income do you or your family receive?: I draw SSI and SSDI and signed up for cash assistance through the sept of Human Services
Description: I know to some this may not be a need, but to my family it is. We are in need of a new
tire.
We can get a used one for 25.00, plus 7.00 to get it balanced, plus tax. A new tire is
way too expensive, 128.00 plus tax.
We need the vehicle to get to the grocery, appts and our daughter to and from school. My
husband also needs to get to classes through DHS here, but I refuse to allow this vehicle
on the road til we get a tire.
My progress: After paying bills and renting a carpet cleaner we have nothing left for the month. I
attached pics of the tire that is on the vehicle now
This is a one time only expense assistance request for a family of 2 adults & 2 children
My message:If anyone could help, this would be greatly appreciated. I hate asking for help with this, but I don't want the inspection to fail because of anything my family did or didn't do.
