Biography
My name is Laetitia.
I have been diagnosed with BREAST CANCER in August 09 & so, to my big surprise because I lead a healthy life. I’m 41 year old, single mother of 2 wonderful teen boys & been lay off few months ago due to our hectic economy... Now I am facing the reality of Breast Cancer without insurance. I have contacted everyone I know of, on the Local/State and Federal level with no response as of yet, so I’m praying you may be able to help me..... I was directed away from Medicaid and started my own search for funding or insurance. So I find out that FL Breast/Cervical Cancer Program has an age requirement of 50-64, Susan G. Komen Association is focusing on prevention & detection on the disease, health insurance companies cannot subscribe a policy with the preexisting condition. All the Cancer Associations I contact, ACS/Living Strong and the others, give advice but no actual treatment knowing that timing is one of my "critical" issue…

I feel like no one is about to help & help me to take care of my condition. I try in need of health insurance or related to find one but with preexisting condition & no income to pay exorbitant rates, I realize that I have to find funds to pay for everyday expenses related to keeping a safe secure environment (home) for my 2 sons & be able to face the cost of curing~treatment myself as quick as possible... The treatment consist in surgery-chemotherapy-radiation-reconstruction & hormone therapy... I may not survive if not soon taking care of!!!
Now it's November, we passed the Month of Cancer Awareness (October), frustrated & still without health insurance. I have applied for Medicaid and I’m facing the rules of the DCF Administration. I understand these rules are put into place for the masse, but in my case the delays may cost me my life.

Did you Know???
The National Breast Cancer Foundation state that women w/o insurance have a 49 percent greater risk of dying from it & when it's needed the most, thats when it;s the hardest to get!!!...
It's the first cause of death in women between 40-55!!!
Cancer Treatment Centers of America inform that the treatment at most hospitals in the US is about $ 225,000...
My Purpose
I am just an European on the loose, living in US... Citizen of the world. Striving of the box...
True to myself & dance my life like nobody is watching!!!

My Interests
Wellness & yoga, Photography, All Sports , Art & History, Travel, Humor & much more...

Thank you Laeti :D

That has been Jenny's mantra since she first saw it on a hospital room
wall. She tries to live it, but during Chemo weeks like this one, she
sometimes forgets.

But she always remembers when it counts.

The reason why having "C" is not completely 'horrible' is
that the people who love you, tell you so... (we never hear it enough)
Thank you. =)

Not what we give,
But what we share,
For the gift
without the giver
Is bare.

Thank you for your very kind donation, which I received. Your
generosity will make an immediate difference in my live as well as in
my sons one. Thank you for being so generous and thoughtful to me!

So sorry to hear about your breast cancer. Your very pretty. Glad to
see you got some donations. I know not having health insurance can
really make you lose everything. I didn't have health insurance when I
became very very sick, and we became homeless because I couldn't work
to get us out of it. Thankfully, I was finally awarded my disability
by a judge. I'm raising donations for a wheelchair-accessible house
and I wish you the best with your fundraising. Take care

Something that has always puzzled me all my life is why, when I am in
special need of help, the good deed is usually done by somebody on
whom I have no claim... Thank you =)
