Biography:
I am a sinlge mom (divorced) of four beautiful children ages 2-10. My youngest has a rare genetic disorder called MPS1 or Hurler's Syndrome. She had a life saving bone marrow transplant in May of 2007 and has been doing better than expected. This coming summer she will be having carpal tunnel surgery and being checked for the other surgeries that are likely to be required with this disease (corneal transplants, hip joint rebuilding, knee stapling, spinal fusion ... all likely before she is 10 :( ). We have insurance right now and have the BEST doctors in the world for this disease keeping track of her case.
I do not work outside the home as Lauren's special needs are not compatible with a daycare center or other babysitter at this time. I also feel that this is a very challenging time for all of my children and the more time I spend with them, the better they will come out on the other side.
I want to teach them compassion and endurance and God is giving me ample opportunity to do that without even leaving our own home! :-)
My Purpose
I have very little money for extra expenses. However, I fully believe that you have to give in order to receive. I do tithe at my church and I am also looking forward to find people on this site who can use my extra two or thee dollars towards their need. That's why I was so excited to find this site... the chance to give and have it appreciated. Receiving would be a blessing, but it is not the whole purpose for being here.
