Biography
Recently I received a letter from the people to people ambassadors program. The program was founded in 1956 by President Dwight Eisenhower. The purpose of the People to People Program is to provide international educational opportunities for grade school, junior high school, and high school students. The program combine's hands-on cultural experiences - behind-the-scenes access to fascinating people and place; and amazing outdoor adventures to create life-changing educational experiences.
I was invited to go to Europe with this program -visiting France, Belgium, Ireland, Wales, England and the Netherlands. Though this is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me the program is NOT FREE :(.
To participate to would have pay a whopping $6000.

Though I can assume I won't make all that money on this website any possible donations even if its only $50 will be greatly appreciated.

For information you can go to the People to People website:

Welcome To Microgiving! Once you get to level 2 you can start making
your requests for donations - you never know! It might even help you
more if you are able to upload some of the documentation as well!

I would just say to put yourself out there! I'm on this website
because I am having a lot of trouble paying for college and my living
expenses.

It's really awesome that you have been selected for People to
People, and I would have loved to have had the finances to go...but
the only advice I can give is to think about what you want long-term.

If it means more to you to go on the trip with People to People than
it does to study abroad for a semester while you are in college, then
go for it! For me, I would have rather gone with People to People, but
you need to decide.

Some fundraising ideas:
Tell all of your family, and ask them if they can help you out.
Apply for scholarships (see if People to People offers any type of
scholarships that help with payment)
Talk to People to People about exactly what the money will go
towards...if some of it is airfare, see if you can use frequent flyer
miles that you or your family may have.
Tell people that you work with. They might be able to guide you in the
right direction.
And, if this trip won't be for a while...budget. Try and save up
money so that you can pay for it, or tell your family that instead of
presents, you want to go on this trip.

If all else fails, try and find people who are willing to donate to
you so that you can participate. There are a lot of people that would
love nothing more than to send you overseas.

It'll work out. Just be involved in your community, and do good
for others...usually karma will step in.

Also, really try hard on this website. Send in your documents (the
paper showing the break down for the trip, how much you make, or your
family makes) and tell about why you want to go on the trip, and what
it will mean to you to be able to do so.

Best of luck...and let me know if you have any questions at all.
I'm always willing to talk!

Welcome to Microgiving. I hope you find the help you need here. You
will need a Paypal account that is connected to a financial
institution and verified so that you can become level 2 verified on
MicroGiving. Once you are at level 2 you will be able to submit some
documentation and a request to the MG team for approval. Please review
the member FAQ for more on how to get verified and submit an
appropriate request. You can find the faq by selecting the Member FAQ
from the help tab.
