Biography

I live in rural Maine with my husband. Last year, at age 30, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had major surgery (3 hours long) to remove an extremely large tumor filled with fluid. Had I not had the surgery, the tumor would have crushed me and killed me. There were times it was hard to breathe and I almost passed out. I even had that feeling that I was "slipping away." The tumor was pressing on all my internal organs. Now, the tumor is out, and I have to have ongoing tests to make sure it does not come back. Since I did not have insurance, due to it being too expensive, I now have medical bills totaling about $50,000. My husband and I couldn't qualify for any financial assistance or aid, so we have to try to pay it all back ourselves.

My Purpose

My purpose is to try to pay off my medical bills, get and stay healthy, and try to enjoy life and all it has to offer. After all, life is short, and we must make the most of it.

Unsure Hobbies and Talents : I won an award in middle school for achieving the highest grade in English for one year. List achievements and any future educational plans : I might go to school to become a nurse, but I want to see how my health pans out before I make any concrete plans or decisions.
