Biography

I've been through a lot in my life. I lost my father at the age of five. My mother developed a mental illness during my teen years. I suffer from fibromyalgia (which causes chronic pain) and Reynaud's syndrome. It's taken me a long time to get where I am now, graduating this May from college with a B.S. in sociology and human services. Now I've been accepted to a Top 20 research school, for the graduate program. It is located in a warmer climate which will help my medical conditions.

My Purpose

I would like to ask for help with moving expenses so I can attend graduate school. I have two young daughters who live with me, do not receive child support, and may not receive public assistance for the move since it is not for a regular job. However, I have been offered a graduate assistantship, which will pay better than an entry level position here in my home state. Also, I'll get health insurance and a full tuition waiver. I can't pass up this opportunity. I plan to use my education to support my family and give back to society.
