Biography:
I am a happy single parent of a beautiful daughter!
I am a talented and creative.. I love to laugh!
I receive a monthly social security check for my bilateral hearing disablity, which I developed when I was 8 years old from a high fever.
I have worked very hard as a payroll clerk and sales associate for over 20 years. But back in 2000, I just couldn't take the stress of being hard of hearing and working anymore. My bosses and co-workers had all made changes for me so that I wouldn't have to answer the phones etc, but the stress on concentrating on understanding what I couldn't understand was unbearable!
I didn't know anything about social security at that time, until someone told me about it. I applied and was approved.
Back in 2005, I met what I thought was the love of my life..We married quickly and the relationship soon turned out to be extremely abusive.
Thank God that I had lived alone and worked hard for so many years because that is where I got the strength to leave. I left when I was 2 month pregnact with my daughter, Elizabeth.
Just September 2007, my future ex went and filed for a divorce, right after he got the papers to pay for child support, denying in the divorce papers that he had a child.
I didn't file sooner because I had reached a point in my life where I had finished my dosmetic abuse counseling and I was at peace, I didn't want to open another door to be harrassed any further!
I am hoping that we will get back pay of 2 1/2 years + of child support soon, because her father's name is on her birth certificate!
The wait is stressful!!
Just a word for those of you out there if you are ever in a abusive relationship, please get out and seek help!
My Purpose
I am here to give my daughter a better life.
After the birth of my daughter, the state medical dropped my insurance, but she is still covered.
I need to see the dentist and I am positive that I have 2 or 3 cavities.
The wait to see the free dentist is long out here, so I will be going to OHSU which is suppose to be way below half the cost of a regular community dentist.
Medicare doesn't cover dental work unless I have a disease in my mouth!
I also, would love to releive the stress of finding out that I need to buy more sanitary naps, gas, toothpaste, toothbrush etc. Things like car insurance premiums, hearing aid batteries are creeping up on me! I just found out it is almost time for a new pair of hearing aids. Medicare doesn't cover hearing aids or dental work. I plan to go back to school either Summer or Fall Semester 2008 to major in Medicine! I have got to have something to offer my daughter when she gets older, something for her to fall back on! I am very thankful for Microgiving.com and would one day like to come back and be a donor!
