Thank you Microgiving for helping me through a rough time. I felt lost and had no where to turn, Strangers helped me who didin't even know me. I had been sick and couldln't work and feared having to take my car off the road since I coudn't pay my car insurance. I needed to finish the semester and get back to work

Since Finding MG I was able to keep my car and finish out the semester. Not only did this site help me financially but emotionally when my Mother was in the hospital and I was scared of losing her. The support the members gave me kept me sane and gave me hope I made a promise to give back as soon as I am on my feet. I will keep that promise and am excited to help someone as MG has helped me.

Microgiving in theoretical practice, is and extension of "Micro-caring". I found myself lost, in need of more than just financial help. I was also in need of spiritual and emotional support. I gained so much support from the staff and members of Microgiving, during two great tragedies in my life.
Microgiving has really impacted my life in a whole new way. Microgiving has made me realize that giving back, is not just a financial position we sometimes must take, but it can include a whole new realm of giving; giving of our time, thoughts, prayers, support, and understanding. Not all of us can give through financial means, but we all have the power to give back in bigger ways then we ever imagined. I truly have found a whole new meaning of the word, "GIVING", giving is so much more than we really think it is.
Please remember, (any gift); be it financial, spiritual, emotional, or physical, can truly make a difference in someone’s life, so be the one to make that difference. It’s your turn to Microgive it forward.

I came to Microgiving when it was fairly new. I wasn't sure what to expect. I put up a request even though I felt bad and guilty about it. I am not used to asking for help from others, let alone complete strangers! When I logged back in and saw a $100.00 donation toward my request that had been up less than a week, I just cried. I was touched beyond words that someone would trust enough to do this for me in my greatest time of need. I put that money together with money I had been saving toward the rent and it immediately went to my landlord to help us catch up on rent (due to unemployment).
I, too, have learned that this site is about much more than money. I feel so bad when I read the requests and want to help them all and know that I cannot at this time! However, I had to learn that sometimes giving also means giving of myself in offers of friendship, support, positive thoughts, and prayers. I can give back in this way while I wait to have enough money to pay it forward financially. Others have also helped me through these means. And it means the world to me. People out in the "real world" really do not want to hear about financial struggles and if they do listen, they often do not really understand. Here, I am able to relate to others and share with others knowing that they know almost exactly what I am going through! It is such a comforting, affirming feeling and it helps me to keep putting one foot in front of the other knowing that there will be better times ahead. I couldn't have lived through the last 9 months without the support of this community and those who have embraced me with their love and support.

Thank you microgiving for helping me with the gift of site! If not for the generosity of the members of microgiving, I would not have been able to get my eye exam! I also have signe dup as a donor and have been able to help in very tiny amounts! God willing, I will be able to help out more in the near future! I am still fairly new to your site but am starting to feel like it is "home". I have some friendships that are starting to grow!

MicroGiving gave me hope when I least expected it. To me Microgiving is more then financial meaning, it's about the friends I've met and the emotional support I along with my family have received. I came to Microgiving lost, ashamed and our family felt alone and invisible in this big world. MG changed all that. Microgiving has given me a new sence of hope and joy that goes so much farther than just self, but my entire family has felt the change. The friends and family I have met here is something that I will cherish forever and I know I have found my forever home on the internet.
Mg has been the light in our darkness and the hope in our hopeless situation, helping make a 180 degree change enabling us to see that one day in the future we will be able to support ourselves and stand on our own... and pull others up with us.
I also learned that hope and help and giving are so multifaceted, all can be obtained by just listening and acting, giving of one's time and compassion is the keystone to changing someone's entire life. Thank you microgiving for giving my family hope and a home!

Microgiving has given me so much. This is more than a place to come and make a request for financial assistance. This is a place where friendships are formed and bonds made. I had nobody on my side and now with joining MG, I am not alone anymore. The weight of the world is a lot to bare when doing it alone. through this site, I know I do not have to bare it alone anymore. This is a place that is safe, positive and supportive and I count my blessings in finding it!!! We are an online virtual family and support system for one another. Most meaningful thing in the world is to know someone, somewhere cares and that is what the site is full of....people who love, care and support. I recently went through losing my little sister, she was my baby sister...I would have NEVER gotten through such a hard, emotional and tramatic event without my FRIENDS and FAMILY right here at MicroGiving. I come here daily just to be with my family and it feels good to be a part of the site. Not only are the members on here genuine, we have one of the most awesome team of workers here too. John, without his vision and belief along with hard work and determination none of this would be possible. He is an amazing man and I thank him with all my heart for giving us MG. Michelle, she is so sweet and bubbly...friendly, quick and reliable. Above all she is also a friend to all on the site. She is more than a "team member" she is our backbone! All other MG staff behind the scenes also make and keep the site what it is and I personally would not trade it for the world. This site means so much to me personally it is unimaginable to think where I was when I came here and where being here has gotten me and I am not talking about the financial end here! I came to Microgiving at a low point in my life. I was learning to accept that I had finally lost my independent mobility. While I was managing around my house, I could not get out of my house to go anywhere. Little by little I just fell into a depression.
My doctor had recommended a scooter to help me get around. I learned of the requirements through local area suppliers then through the Scooter Store and brought these concerns to my doctor. Neither he nor I was yet willing to change my paperwork to non-ambulatory. This would have made me eligible for wheeled mobility...but ineligible for future treatments permitted for ambulatory patients. This caused me to lose hope and sink further into depression...basically I just gave up and started planning my life around the one room I could move around in.
I found Microgiving through another site where I had entered into a wishing well competition hoping to win some money towards a scooter. I have a scooter today smiling smiley later I was able to get some help towards a fund to have a trailer hitch installed and purchase a trailer to haul the supply of equipment that must accompany me to places outside my home.
While I was here though...I found something else far greater than the funds...something that make me call Microgiving home. It was hope, acceptance, support and understanding. A community of friends who are willing to share in good days and bad days.
We have a man with a vision behind this website and though he stays silent...he is a friend to all of us. We have the Site Administrator who is much more than the person behind the control panel. She is a friend. Honest, caring, supportive and seems to be EVERYWHERE...at the same time. I'm not sure if she sleeps....confused smiley
The tech team...we never hear from them, but it's not hard to imagine a human crew behind the scenes doing everything possible to make this website the best one if it's kind on the web.
I will say this....I am thankful to have received help, but my most rewarding experience of all was the day I deposited money into my donor account and started giving hope to others.

I came to MG because some of my friend told me to come check it out, they know how hard I have been working to raise the money to buy my child a pool and they saw I was making no progress. I have gotten some donation but I found so much more. I found friends, insperation, HOPE, alot of love from people who needed love and friends just as much as I did. If I never learn anything else in this world, the lessons I have learned here will stay with me. There is alway a way to help and to get help. I am not talking about money here I am talking about friends, prayer, being uplifted when you are so low you are sitting on the bottem of life with no ladder. One thing I read here will stay with me alway and that is John saying he got tired of people telling him things he couldn't do and then turning it around and making a success of himself. If he can do it then so can I.

This site is the cream of the crop as far as sites go. Not only is it run in a professional manner, but they are making improvements constantly for both members and visitors.They help facilitate bringing together generous individuals with the needy in a safe and secure environment.Be assured it is safe and all requests and recipients are fully monitored and checked for honesty, integrity and accuracy.This is a secure and fully monitored way to help people in needand know that your money is really being put to use to help people.The folks at MicroGiving do all the checking and monitoring for you, so give it as try, you will not be dissapointed! It is a perfect way to do a random act of kindness to some really wonderful and deserving needy people.

The micro-philanthropy and micro-finance sectors continue to expand. MicroGiving and Zopa USA both launched in recent months.
MicroGiving
MicroGiving helps individuals make donations to other individual and independent project in need. No 501c3 status required. It's like Fundable, with an online community built around it. Since their quiet launch in early March, MicroGiving has produced over $110,000 in committed and donated philanthropy dollars and $457,801 in requested donations.
